Ten Nuggets to Discover from 1 Corinthians 12 About Spiritual Gifts
1. God does not want us to be ignorant about the work of the Holy Spirit or the use of spiritual gifts. (verse 1)
2. There is diversity in the Body of Christ, because we have differing gifts. (verses 4-6)
3. There is unity in the Body of Christ, because our gifts come from the same God. (verses 4-6)
4. Every believer has been given a gift in order to produce the work that God has for this person in the Body of Christ. (verse 7)
5. The Holy Spirit distributes gifts according to His will, not the desires of man. (verse 11) I did not pick my gifts. As an act of divine grace, the Holy Spirit assigned my gift according to the call of God upon my life.
6. No one can claim that his or her gift is more important or less important than any other gift. (verses 15-24).
7. God has put together the local church by His design. (verse 24)
8. Since all followers of Christ are gifted for ministry, there should be no division within the Church. (verse 25)
9. No one possesses all the gifts. Therefore, we need each other to accomplish the task of ministry. (verses 29-30)
10. Without love for one another, the gifts are useless. (verse 31 and Chapter 13)

1. We are called to be a living sacrifice by submitting our lives to Christ. (verse 1)
2. Spiritual gifts help us discern God’s will for our lives. (verse 2)
3. Spiritual gifts are not an opportunity for pride, as God is the giver of these unmerited gifts of grace. (verse 3)
4. All followers of Christ are a part of one Body (the Church) but have a specific and diverse function within the ministry. (verse 4)
5. We must use whatever gift God has given with faithfulness. (verses 6-8)

1. Every follower of Christ is commanded to be faithful to the calling of God. (verse 1)
